The plugin creates a lightweight sitemap index at /sitemap_index.xml with child sitemaps for posts, pages, taxonomies, comments and media library images. It also includes a simple SEO analytics / health scanner module which checks published content for common on-site issues (missing meta description, missing featured image, suspicious links, media without ALT text, etc.).

The plugin is optimized for large media-heavy WordPress installations and WooCommerce catalogs.

== Requirements ==

* WordPress 5.8 or higher
* PHP 7.4 or higher
* MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB equivalent
* Pretty permalinks enabled (required for /sitemap_index.xml and child sitemaps)
* cURL or allow_url_fopen recommended for external requests (search engine ping)

== Installation ==

1. Download vectormap-sitemap-pro.zip
2. In WordPress admin go to:
Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
3. Upload the ZIP
4. Activate plugin
5. Open “VectorMap Sitemap PRO” in the admin menu

== Using the SEO Analytics / Health Scanner ==

1. Go to *Settings → SEO Analytics* (submenu under *Settings*).
2. Click **Run full health scan**.
3. The scanner will:
* Process published posts and pages in small batches.
* Then process media attachments used in the image sitemaps.
4. Progress is displayed as a percentage. Once finished, the page will reload with updated results.
5. At the top you will see:
* **Summary by issue type** – count of each problem category.
* Below – **Detailed issues**, with:
* URL
* Message
* Detected at (timestamp)
6. You can filter issues by type using the links in the summary table.

== Database ==

On activation the plugin creates a dedicated table:

* `{prefix}vm_sitemap_health`

This table is used only for storing SEO health scan results (URL, issue type, message, timestamp).
You can safely truncate it if you want to clear all scan results.

No core WordPress tables are modified.
