Seville

Seville is the capital of the Autonomous Region of Andalusia and the province of Seville, located in the South-West of Spain. According to legend, Seville was founded by the Greek hero Hercules. But it is known that in 207 BC on the site of today’s Seville, the Romans built the city of Italica. In the Cathedral Maria de La Cede, built-in 1401—1519gg. on the former site of the mosque, there are five ships, many works of art (paintings of Murillo, Velazquez, Zurbaran, de), as well as a giant organ and burial of historical and famous personalities. Nearby is the so-called Giralda – bell tower height of 114 meters with rich patterns and ornaments, one of the symbols of Seville.

Worthy of mention also the Alcazar Palace with luxurious rooms and a garden; the exchange with the famous American archive; the building was founded by Christopher Columbus ‘ son of the College of San Telmo (the former sea school, now the residence of the Duke of Montpensier); Golden tower – 12-cipollini tower on the banks of the Guadalquivir, where once stored the gold brought from America by Christopher Columbus; and the theatre St. Francis and Archbishop’s Palace.

The main entertainment in Seville, of course, is a visit to a party with a flamenco performance, the birthplace of which is just Andalusia. Another traditional Seville entertainment is connected with horses. Horse-drawn carriages are considered a full-fledged urban mode of transport.
With the exception of Madrid, nowhere in Spain does not pass as many fights with bulls as in Seville. The largest and most famous arena rises above the Plaza de Toros de La Maestranza.
