Ivory Coast is a country in West Africa known for its beach resorts, rainforests and French colonial heritage. The country’s largest city, Abidjan, is located on the Atlantic coast. Among its modern monuments, one can note the stepped concrete Pyramid and St. Paul’s Cathedral – an unusual building, part of which is a massive cross in front of the facade. To the north of downtown is the Banquo National Tropical Reserve with numerous hiking trails.
