Waterways:

Skopje is situated along the Vardar River, which is the principal waterway in the region. The Vardar River runs through the city, dividing it into two parts. Several bridges span the Vardar, connecting the different areas of Skopje.

Bridges:

  1. Stone Bridge (Kamen Most): This is one of the most iconic landmarks in Skopje. It is a historic Ottoman bridge that connects the old and new parts of the city.
  2. Eye Bridge (Okno Most): A modern pedestrian bridge with a unique eye-shaped design. It offers a great view of the city and the Vardar River.
  3. Art Bridge (Umka Bridge): Decorated with various sculptures and artwork, this bridge is a pedestrian bridge connecting the Macedonia Square area with the Archaeological Museum.
  4. Civil Engineering Faculty Bridge: Also known as the “Mosquito Bridge,” it connects the City Park with the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Main Streets:

  1. Macedonia Street (Makedonija Street): This is one of the central streets in Skopje, home to shops, cafes, and government buildings. It leads to Macedonia Square.
  2. Goce Delchev Boulevard: A major boulevard named after the revolutionary Goce Delchev. It stretches across the city and features a mix of commercial and residential areas.
  3. Ilinden Boulevard: Another important boulevard in Skopje, it is known for its shops, cafes, and cultural institutions.
  4. Partizanski Odredi Street: Running parallel to the Vardar River, this street is part of the city center and hosts various businesses and services.

Remember that the information might be subject to change, and new developments could have occurred since my last update. For the latest and most accurate details, I recommend checking with local sources or recent maps of Skopje.
