  4. Ranua Wildlife Park: About an hour’s drive from Rovaniemi, Ranua Wildlife Park is home to a wide range of Arctic and northern animals, including polar bears, lynx, and moose. It’s an excellent place to get up close and personal with the local wildlife in a controlled environment.
  5. Korouoma Nature Reserve: Located about a two-hour drive from Rovaniemi, Korouoma Nature Reserve is known for its stunning, deep canyon with frozen waterfalls during the winter months. Hiking and ice climbing are popular activities in the reserve.
  6. Pyhä-Luosto National Park: Approximately a two-hour drive from Rovaniemi, Pyhä-Luosto National Park is known for its beautiful landscapes, including Pyhä-Luosto Fells. It offers a variety of hiking trails, both in summer and winter, and is a great place for experiencing Lapland’s nature.

Rovaniemi is also famous for its connections to the Arctic Circle, with the Santa Claus Village just north of the city. Visitors can cross the Arctic Circle line and meet Santa Claus himself.
