Corse France City Vector Map

Corsica, a beautiful island located in the Mediterranean Sea, has a network of principal roads that crisscross its rugged terrain. These roads provide access to the various regions of the island, including its stunning coastline, picturesque villages, and dramatic mountain landscapes. Here’s an overview of some of the main roads on the island of Corsica:

  1. N193 – This is the main road that circumnavigates Corsica, running along the coastline. It offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, cliffs, and picturesque beaches. It connects many of the island’s towns and cities, including Bastia in the north and Bonifacio in the south.
  2. N196 – This road runs parallel to the N193 but is more inland, passing through the Corsican hinterland. It provides access to several towns and villages in the central part of the island, such as Corte, the historic capital of Corsica.
  3. D81 – This road leads to the popular Calanques de Piana, known for its spectacular red rock formations and cliffs. The drive is incredibly scenic, offering breathtaking views of the Gulf of Porto.
  4. D62 – This road leads to the mountainous region of Bavella, famous for its stunning natural landscapes and hiking trails. The road takes you through dense forests and eventually leads to the Bavella Needles, a popular hiking destination.
  5. D81 – For those seeking to explore the western side of Corsica, this road connects Calvi to Porto. It passes through the Scandola Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and offers some of the island’s most rugged and picturesque landscapes.
  6. N198 – This road takes you to the southern tip of Corsica and the charming town of Bonifacio. The drive provides breathtaking views of the white limestone cliffs and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean.
  7. D69 – Leading to the northern Cap Corse region, this road provides access to fishing villages, remote beaches, and rugged coastline. The drive along the cape is a unique and scenic experience.

Keep in mind that Corsica’s roads can be narrow, winding, and at times challenging to navigate, especially in the mountainous regions. Also, road conditions may vary, so it’s essential to exercise caution while driving on the island, especially in more remote areas.

When traveling in Corsica, it’s recommended to have a good map or GPS navigation system to help you navigate the island effectively and make the most of its stunning landscapes.
