La Paz and El Alto are two interconnected cities in Bolivia, with distinct characteristics and urban layouts. Below is an overview of the principal streets, roads, and city districts for each city.

La Paz

Principal Streets and Roads:

  1. El Prado (Paseo del Prado): This is the main thoroughfare in downtown La Paz, lined with shops, offices, and restaurants.
  2. Avenida 16 de Julio: It extends from El Prado and connects various parts of the city.
  3. Avenida Arce: An important road that passes through the central and southern parts of La Paz, known for its embassies, offices, and upscale shops.
  4. Avenida Mariscal Santa Cruz: A continuation of El Prado, connecting to other major roads.
  5. Avenida Montes: Connects the central part of La Paz to the northern neighborhoods and the city’s bus terminal.
  6. Avenida Busch: An important east-west artery in the Miraflores district.

Key Districts:

  1. Centro: The heart of La Paz, including El Prado and many of the city’s administrative and commercial buildings.
  2. Miraflores: Known for its residential areas, hospitals, and the Hernando Siles Stadium.
