Create Your Own Treasure Hunt
Judging by the number of comments and visitors to this blog on Monday it would seem that Google’s Treasure Map, with its two treasure hunts, was hugely popular. Need more maps? Here it is: Haifa, Israel, printable vector street City Plan G-View V.3 map full editable, Adobe Illustrator, full vector. It therefore seems like an appropriate time to introduce an application that can help you easily create your own Google Maps treasure hunt.
Mission MapQuest lets you add as many questions (clues) and answers (locations) as you like to a Google Map in order to create a virutal ‘treasure hunt’. Players then have to solve your clues and zoom into the answer’s location on the map. When the player answers correctly they will find a little golden coin at the location.
Mission MapQuest comes with one example of a game already created that you can play to get an idea of the format. I can’t help thinking however that Mission MapQuest is missing a trick by not showing all the created games up front on its home page. Source.
