DWG Map Den Haag + Delft Netherlands

Den Haag (The Hague) and Delft are two cities in the Netherlands, but they are not known for having national parks within their borders. Instead, both cities are part of the province of South Holland, which is characterized by its urban and densely populated landscape. While the region does not have national parks, it does offer several beautiful natural areas, parks, and recreational spaces.

Here are some notable natural and recreational areas near Den Haag and Delft:

  1. Westduinpark: Located near the coast in The Hague, Westduinpark is a large coastal park with sand dunes, walking trails, and beautiful beach areas. It offers a serene environment for nature enthusiasts and those looking to escape the city’s hustle and bustle.
  2. Haagse Bos: This is a forested area situated right in the heart of The Hague. It provides a peaceful and green oasis within the city, perfect for leisurely walks and picnics.
  3. Scheveningen Beach: While not a national park, Scheveningen Beach is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It offers a wide sandy beach, vibrant promenade, and various water sports activities.
  4. Delftse Hout: Just outside of Delft, you can find the Delftse Hout, a recreational area with a lake, woods, and open spaces. It’s a great spot for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, and picnicking.
  5. Midden-Delfland: This area is characterized by a patchwork of fields, canals, and picturesque landscapes. It’s an excellent location for cycling, birdwatching, and exploring the Dutch countryside.

While neither Den Haag nor Delft boasts national parks, they offer various green spaces and natural areas for residents and visitors to enjoy. For those seeking more extensive national parks and nature reserves, you may want to consider exploring other regions of the Netherlands, such as the Hoge Veluwe National Park or the De Biesbosch National Park, both of which are further from Den Haag and Delft but offer larger and more diverse natural settings.
