How to Turn Pixelmator Into a Vector Graphics Editing App | MacTrast
You know the folks here at Mactrast are HUGE fans of Pixelmator, the fantastic low-cost Adobe Photoshop alternative that’s available in the Mac App Store for just $14.99. But, did you know there is a hidden mode in Pixelmator that turn the app into a full-fledged vector art app similar to Adobe Illustrator? Here’s how to activate the hidden mode. One simple combination of Hotkeys is all it takes to activate vector editing mode in Pixelmator. Just Hold down Command+Shift+V and you’ll immediately see all of the toolbars transform, and you’ll also see a little “Enter Vectormator Mode” message that will briefly appear over the current image canvas. If that wasn’t cool enough, you can also switch back and forth between Pixelmator and Vectormator by toggling that same keyboard shortcut. So you can draw some vector shapes, then pop right back into pixel-mode, and vice-versa. Excellent! In order to have access to the hidden “Vectormator” mode, you’ll need Pixelmator 2.2 from the App Store. If you’ve already purchased it from the App Store, the upgrade is free. Those needing to purchase Pixelmator can do so from the App Store for the crazy low price of $14.99.
